How a project works

A challenge asks one question. A project gives you a role and a run of connected questions, the way requests arrive in an analyst job: a manager asks for revenue, then for the customers behind it, then for the products that are slipping. Each task builds on what you found in the one before.

• Every task states the business question, the tables involved and what the result should contain.
• You write the query in the editor and it is checked against the expected result.
• Tasks get harder as you go, from filters and aggregates to JOINs, CTEs and window functions.
• You need a free account, so your place in the project is saved between visits.

There is one project so far. If you are not yet comfortable with JOINs and GROUP BY, work through the lessons or a few challenges first.
