Salary Calculators by State (2026)
One page for each of the 50 states and Washington, DC. Federal income tax, Social Security and Medicare are calculated everywhere. State tax is included only where that state's 2026 rules have been checked against its own publications, and every page says which kind of estimate it gives.
Not sure which state applies, or want the federal rules explained? Use the general US salary calculator.

State tax included, local tax missing (3)
State income tax is included and verified. A local income tax that many residents pay is not, and the page says which.
Federal taxes only for now (33)
These states tax wages, but their rules are not in the calculator yet. The page shows federal taxes only and says so; real take-home pay is lower.

What the three labels mean
State taxes included means the page subtracts that state's income tax and any payroll deduction employees pay, using rules read from the state's own sources and covered by tests. States that do not tax wages are in this group too: their pages still check for employee payroll deductions, which Alaska and Washington have.
Local tax missing means the state part is done but a city or county income tax is not, so people who owe one will keep less than shown.
Federal taxes only means the state's rules are not in the calculator. The result is labelled as incomplete on the page, no state figure is shown, and the state is moved up only after its rules are verified.
